In order for Silflex to design the ideal hose for you, there are four questions that you should ask yourself about your intended application:

1) What pressure will the hose be operating at? answer
2) What temperature will the hose have to withstand? answer
3) What movement/vibration will the hose be subjected to? answer
4) What air or fluid will the hose have to carry? answer

Once you have considered these questions and their implications, feel free to contact us to discuss your requirements further.

Due to the versatility of silicone, it is tolerant to most fluids and gases presented to it in standard under-bonnet conditions. Is is resilient to occasional contact with diesel,/gasoil and petrol, and it is unaffected by rust-inhibitors and anti-freeze.

However, at Silflex we recommend that any hose used to transport fuel (petrol, diesel/gasoil) should have a Flourosilicone lining.

A Flourosilicone outer lining can also be produced, protecting a hose from permanent external splashes or immersion. We can also provide blended Fluorosilicone hose for oil/air mist applications.

Right: Short connector hose with fluorosilicone outer lining
Top: Turbo Hose with integral heat reflector (see temperature section)
